Kathmandu by first sight

Alright so now it seems that waiting those endless hours in Istanbul was worth it: I arrived well and safely in Kathmandu. I was the first of the new volunteers which meant that I even had the priviliage to have a little rest after the long journey and before the others would get here. Oh right, of course this only happened after a weird and shocking experience with the transportation from the airport to our appatment: first - maybe the this shows the lack ofmy  time to prepare before coming here - I had no idea about that they are driving on the "wrong side" (=left) here! Besides this, just imagine some taxis that look like if they came from the '50s, wide roads without any lanes and at least 3 cars next to each other, and tons of motorcycles speeding among them, combined with the sound of the car horns that you can hear non-stop... It was pretty interesting.
Anyway, by the time when the other volunteers arrived in the afternoon, thanks to the volunteer who has been here for 6 months and still staying 1 month with us, I already got to know where the nearest supermarket is, as well as where to find the "gas man" and the water man".
In the evening we had a great Nepali dinner made by our lovely hosts at CCN organisation, Yagya and Yamkala which was made even more romantic by fact that according to the electricity shedule (which is different every day of the week), we only have light between 5-8pm on Wednesdays, meaning that we finished our great dinner by candlelight! :) Oh, and after 3 years (since I have been to Ghana) I could start learning again, how to use my hand for eating! :) Pretty much fun! :)
